Root Chakra (Sanskrit name: Muladhara)
The first chakra in our body is the Root Chakra, which is located at the base of the spine; the color associated with this chakra is red and also black. When working with the Root chakra your energy focus will reflect on grounding, stability, sexual expression, your physical energy, security and will. It also has to do with our sense of smell and taste.
The root chakra also associated with our adrenals, kidneys, muscles and arterial blood.
The color Red symbolizes life, vitality, strength and the physical nature of man. In nature, red represents heat, fire and anger.
Foods to aid with this chakra are beets, parsnips, rutabaga, apples, pomegranates and especially animal proteins.

Sacral Chakra (Sanskrit Name: Swadhisthana)
The second chakra we find in our body is called the Sacral Chakra; it is located about 2 inches below our belly button area. The color associated with this chakra is orange and also blue-green. The color green symbolizes harmony, creativity, health, abundance and nature. It is the combining of yellow (soul) and blue (spirit).
